Vintage Signs

It Does Not Have To Be Gas Station

Related!

While our primary business is buying antique advertising signs, globes and gas pumps related to gas stations, we are also interested in other antique signs. Companies like Coca Cola, General Motors and Kodak are just a few that made some great signs. When it comes to vintage advertising we are interested in buying, it typically needs to date before 1970. A quick way to tell if your sign is made of plastic, it’s probably a little too new for us.

While those company signs are very popular, we are interested in buying just about any beverage sign from the 1800’s into the 1960’s. These signs range from painted tin, painted steel, lithographs, porcelain, neon and glass. Soda pop advertising signs can range from very small to huge monsters weighing hundreds of pounds. Vintage Beer Advertising Signs

Beer signs from the late 1800’s into the 1920’s are something we are very interested in buying. During this early time period there were hundreds of different brands of beer. All of them utilized signs made of tin, steel, neon, glass and porcelain to set themselves apart. When Prohibition was put into law many of these beer companies dissolved or produced other drinks. After Prohibition was repealed, the flood gates opened up again for beer and all of the related signs - of which we buy! Just about any metal or glass beer sign is something we purchase. Vintage neon signs made before the 1960’s are also of interest to us, but not modern day neon beer signs. If you have an unknown beer sign or one made by the big companies such as Budweiser, Pabst, Miller, Coors, Hamm’s, Schlitz, Olympia, we are strong buyers for these signs. Just send us an email to signs@nationsattic.com or call / text 316-371-1828

Restaurant & Fast Food Signs

Every restaurant in America had a sign out front! Some of these signs may be rather generic and some were very fancy. These pieces of Americana are something we want to preserve and buy! Signs of this type were typically steel or porcelain with neon mounted on them. These restaurant , diner and fast food signs can be large and heavy, which is no problem for us! Sometimes signs for the major fast food companies wouldn’t even be a traditional flat sign but something such as a character - like the famous Big Boy. Sinclair gas stations had their green dinosaur, we love these characters and three dimensional signs! As with any sign, condition is key to there value. If you have been thinking about selling an antique food related sign, just give us a call at 316- 371-1828 or email us at signs@nationsattic.com

Vintage Hotel & Motel Signs

Every town and city had the classic motel starting in the 1920’s. In most cases these motels would also have a big bright sign by the street or highway inviting you to stay.  While these signs can be quite large, we do have clients looking for these. Condition of the porcelain or steel and if the sign is still up on the poll or buildings are factors in how much we can pay for these signs. While most motel signs are for individual locations, we also buy signs from big chain motels and hotels, such as Holiday Inn. These chain signs need to date before the 1960’s. If you are not sure of the age or value of your motel sign, just give us a call at 316- 371-1828. It’s always best to text or email us photos  of the sign so we can assess what you have accurately.
Antique Radio Service Trade Shop Sign

Antique Trade / Shop Signs

The antique signs we buy do not all have to be from famous brand names or locations. Small shops or businesses also produced classic signs in the 19th and 20th Centuries for their store front.  We are always interested in buying these signs, the more unusual the better actually! Shop or trade signs sometimes were traditional or made to illustrate the occupation of the business. These signs can be made of tin, steel, porcelain glass and neon. Anything from a plumbing company to a watch repair store is something we are interested in buying. Just send us photos of what you have via email or text (316-371-1828) and we will get right back with you!
